Tralee and Dingle Railway Covered Roof Cattle Wagon Kit
The 3 foot gauge Tralee and Dingle Railway opened in 1891 to serve the remote and mountainous Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry Ireland.   Passenger services ended in 1939, but the railway continued to run monthly cattle specials up until complete closure in 1953. The T&D had a total of 33 cattle wagons, the majority of which were of the open type. In 1907 the Midland Carriage and Wagon Company of Birmingham supplied the company with 6 covered roofs of a more conventional design.  This kit is based on a drawing of one of these vehicles published by Dave Pinniger as running in 1934 and first produced by the infamous team of Neil Ramsey and John Campbell who work hard to bring those lost Irish railways back to the fore .
